Heartburn No More – The Crimes We Commit Against Our Stomachs
The crimes we commit against our stomachs! Each time we visit a fast food chain for a quick “gulp it down” meal. Each time we get hungry and eat a big bunch of sweets right before we go to bed. How about the fact that we keep eating and stuffing ourselves, full well knowing that we’ll pay for it later. But we still do it.
It’s no wonder heartburn and acid reflux disease is out of control and hurting so many people. But the usual answer is drugs. Over the counter or prescription. Rolaids, Prilosec, Prevacid, Zantac and Tagament. I know there are many others, but they all work on your system to just “mask” the symptoms – you feel better initially, but the medications are actually digging your grave for you. What most of them do is inhibit and stop your body’s natural digestion process. No digestion – no pain – until many other related problems start springing up.
Listen closely to the video below and Roger Molina’s success story that follows. If you are really bothered by heartburn and acid reflux, the video shows a totally natural system to regain your health and have your heartburn stop. Most of the time you can see results in just a few hours.
Success Story #1: Roger Molina (From the Heartburn No More website)
“In less than 2 weeks, my chest pain and constant burning have gone!”
“Dear Jeff, I’m a 57-year-old man from New Jersey and I have come across your website completely by accident. I have suffered from acid reflux and Hiatal Hernia for more than a decade and was a Zentic and Tums junkie, yet the pain, especially at night or after a heavy meal, was sometimes so overwhelming I had to take painkillers in addition. I have tried several other natural remedies prior to reading your book including the so-called apple cure, but they all offered nothing but temporary relief. Deep in my heart I knew quick fixes, even the natural ones were not the solution so reading your book only reaffirmed my feelings. I must say your program not only makes sense, it’s a real godsend. In less than 2 weeks, my chest pain and constant burning have gone! Not only that, I can’t really remember when I have experienced such a profound sense of clarity and well-being. I have become a lot more regular and energetic, my sleep is fantastic and I look and feel fabulous. I have emptied my medicine cabinet from all the chemical junk I was putting in my body. Here’s to a new all-natural beginning!
God bless you!”

Your questions about acid reflux

Ken asks…
I take 60 mg lansoprazole morning and 300 mg ranitidine at night for acid reflux confirmed by endoscopy?
In the last two weeks i have felt a lump on swallowing ,seen ENT and they confirm acid reflux no actual lump refered again to GI.Will this lump feeling go away.

Stephen answers:
I’ve heard “2 or 3 teaspoons (10-15 ml) of Apple Cider Vinegar in an 8 ounce glass of water, before meals or whenever heartburn is experienced.”
It’s also quite possible that just drinking more water can help. Do you drink 64 ounces or more per day?

Maria asks…
Is it bad to take pills for acid reflux?
This is really more for my girlfriend’s benefit, who swears that every pill you take (including antibiotics) is not good for your system. Agreed that steroids and antibiotics probably aren’t great to take every day, but they help temporarily.
My real question is, is it bad to take acid reflux meds every day? It makes her feel so much better, but she is convinced that it won’t fix the problem, just cover it up… which is what it does. I don’t really understand the logic. Anyway, is it bad for your system as a whole?
Thanks.

Stephen answers:
Acid reflux medication is a prescription for ill health. These medications lower essential stomach acid. Good stomach acid is needed to kill of bacterias, fungi and parasites, digest and assimulates essential nutrients. The majority of acid reflux suffers actually have insufficient stomach acid (not excess!) and/or lack of digestive enzymes in the diet. The FDA issued a statement last year that proton pump inhibitors eg: nexium, prilosec – should not be taken for more than 14 days, 3 times a year. A good reason for that…see side effects >>> http://refluxdefense.com/heartburn_GERD_articles/side-effects-antacids-and-acid-blockers.html
“Individuals suffering with stomach and intestinal problems most frequently assume that heartburn, indigestion, gas, and reflux are caused by overproduction of stomach acid. This common misconception has been strongly re-enforced by our conventional medical profession, whose practitioners routinely prescribe stomach acid blocking medications at the slightest sign of stomach dysfunction, failing to properly diagnose the digestive problem by first monitoring the stomach’s acid producing function, using scientific methods and neglecting to provide patients with common sense dietary recommendations.”

Carol asks…
How to doctors check for acid reflux?
My parents believe I have it because of what I complain about after I eat some food. Like aa weird feeling in the back of my throat. My dad wants me to go to the doctor soon so we can stop the acid.. I just wanted to know how doctors check for acid reflux

Stephen answers:
There are two ways they can test for GERD (acid reflux disease). One is a barium x-ray. You swall a liquid solution of barium and immediately after, they will take an x-ray to see if it is coming back up your esophagus after you swallow it. The other way to test is by endoscopy. You are sedated and the doctor inserts a small camera down to your esophagus and stomach to diagnose. Don’t worry if it is acid reflux, it’s so common and the are so many medications that can help you. good luck!

Linda asks…
How do i stop acid reflux?
I’m 15 and i started getting it when i was 10. I really haven’t been paying attention about it until a year ago. My mom has it also so could it run in the family? My stomach feels weird after eating spicy food and i get occasional heartburns. Are there any medicine or natural ways that will stop acid reflux before it gets really worse?

Stephen answers:
Yogurt every day is supposed to help.

Paul asks…
I don’t have medicine at the moment to get rid of my acid reflux pain, is there any other way?
I know this is my third question about my acid reflux, but I am only 13 and this is actually my first time having this kind of pain. Will it eventually go away or should I take something? Thanks.

Stephen answers:
Mixing some baking soda with water and drinking it will usually help. I never do it, because it’s disgusting, but my mom does it and it works every time.
Eat some bread or drink some milk. That sometimes works for me.
Otherwise you can try tums. I don’t suggest this. They taste SO GROSS, and don’t work at all.
That’s about all I got though. I’ve had acid reflux for years, but I have learned to ignore it. I pass kidney stones. I got bigger fish to fry. haha

Your questions about cure for heartburn

Sharon asks…
When Was The Last Time Pharmaceuticals Created A Cure For Something?
When was the last time a pharmaceutical created a cure for something?
You always hear about new drugs coming out for keeping this low, keeping this high, maintaining this and that, Puts you to sleep for 8 hours, puts you to sleep for 9 hours. Protects from heartburn in just 2 hours, protects from heartburn in just 1 hour.
Take this drug for the rest of your life to remove pain, take this drug for the rest of your life to live.
Im asking because I dont know. So when was the last time that they made a cure for something?

Stephen answers:
Hm. Taxol, in the early 1990s made a few dozen previously untreatable cancers, notably several forms of childhood leukemia curable with a 5 year survival rate of over 90% this is basically a cure.
Herceptin, sold in… I believe 1998 (don’t quote me on that), raised the survival rate at five years for inflammatory breast cancer from less than 1% to >65%.
The anti-HIV retroviral drugs, though not specifically a cure, are quite impressive. Prior to the creation of protease inhibitors, the average time to develop AIDS was 2.5 years after infection with HIV, and from that diagnosis of AIDS, 6 months to death. NARTIs improved this somewhat, but it was really the protease inhibitors that boosted HIV from a six month death sentence to almost normal life expectancy. That’s damned impressive.
The way the word ‘cure’ gets thrown about in the media and general public is not congruent with the reality of medicine or biology. It’s viewed as some tap with a magic wand – something that remedies all ills and the patient goes home and lives happily ever after without any complications. Do they ever, for instance, mention the vicious cocktail of immune system suppressing drugs that transplant patients have to take to keep their new organ from being shredded? Nope. The transplant fixes everything.

Ken asks…
I pass blood more and more often at the toilet, at times only blood. Is this linked to my enlarged prostate?
I am 57 and for 3 years have been told my prostate is slightly enlarged but annual PS checks have given good results. For a year or so I had occasional rectal bleeding and a lot of heartburn. Because I was worried, last year I had a colonoscopy and a gastroscopy; two small polyps were removed and I was put on a pill for oesophagitis for two months but all was otherwise fine. The pill cured the heartburn, which I now have only occasionally and mildly. I’m in good health normally but recently had a short bout of diarrhoea presumably from food poisoning and with this was a lot of rectal bleeding. Since the diarrhoea stopped I’ve had more bleeding than before. I haven’t had a regular doctor since my last doctor died so I can’t easily get a check up. I am a highly stressed person, if that is relevant.

Stephen answers:
Hi Deni
You need to do a colon cleanse and clean out the toxins out of the body or it could get worse and find yourself with a disease. I recommend this website’s colon cleansing plan (healmarketplace.com).
Also, go to curezone.com and find people like yourself with similar issue. You can heal yourself, but you need to educated on nutrition and cleansing.
Best of health to you
Cheers

Sandra asks…
How do I get rid of this horrible heartburn?
Yes, I eat spicy food and will continue to eat it. I have not consulted a physician yet but am fully aware I should. I just want to know if there is anything out there I can take that will cure me for good. I take Pepcid twice a day just to function and it barely helps. Please help, no jokes, 10 points best answer

Stephen answers:
I once had a dr. tell me that spicy food shouldn’t be a cause of heartburn. Something about the spice not being the problem, but the stomach. Now I have found that when I have sugar in my diet I get heartburn and when I drop sugar out I feel fine. Might want to check that one out especially since we don’t need sugar in the first place.

Maria asks…
Pain when swallowing, couching, sneezing, burping…..?
My fiance has been complaining of pain when he swallows, coughs, sneezes, and burps. For the first day he thought it was heartburn. He said that is what it felt like. After toning down the food he ate and taking his usual heartburn cure he still had the pain. He also says that the pain is internal feeling. Does anyone have any clue what could be causing such a strange pain. What should we do. Do we need to go to the doctor? This has been going on for 3 days.
He is 33 years old.
He hasn’t complained of any other pain in his body or any additional fatigue.

Stephen answers:
I had this once for about 3-4 days. It can be quite painful. When i would swallow it felt like I was swallowing a golf ball. Eventually it went away and I attributed it to some grilled onions I had eaten the night before my symptoms started. I think they just really irritated my esophagus or the lining of my stomach and it too a few days for it to heal over.

Charles asks…
If I manage my eating will my heartburn go away and not turn into cancer?
I am now eating more plain foods. I am only 12 but is scared that i have a higher risk of cancer when i grow up. It is hard for me to feel relaxed due to my depression. Is there a cure for depression and heartburn? I’ve heard that vinegar can help. I am scared to eat fried or greasy foods, even eating big portions makes me feel uncomfortable. Don’t scare me too much with you answer please. thanks. oh and should I drink a shot of vinegar? Does heartburn comeback when I’m older and increase a risk of cancer?
I am on Zantac and Heartburn Antacid
thanks.

Stephen answers:
Oh dear, you shouldn’t be worrying about stomach cancer at 12 yrs old. Listen, I’m 64 and have been suffering from heart burn, bleeding ulcers, esophageal spasm caused by an excess of stomach acids splashing against the esophagus and causing it to go into spasms, You are doing the right things by staying away from spicy foods, fried foods and to much roughage. . These are the foods you should stay away from but no food can prevent cancer. At your age, the chances of you getting stomach cancer is almost 0. So don’t worry, I would never try to scare you. Believe me, I’ve been a nurse for over 30 yrs and never saw anyone under the age of 60 get stomach cancer. I can’t believe a child your age has to be on Zantac. Wow, this is too much. You should see the medications I’m on and I’m 64 and don’t have stomach cancer. Really, don’t worry, it’s not going to happen. Why are you depressed at your age. You should be out playing with friends in a ball park or play ground playing baseball or football. I wish I could convince you that this isn’t going to happen to you. You’re going to live to be an old man. Trust me OK.

Your questions about home remedies for acid reflux

Thomas asks…
What are the best home remedies for gastroesophageal Reflux Disease?
i have bad acid reflux. anyone with medical experience.

Stephen answers:
Your stomach juices are also very acidic (pH as low as 1-2). One primary reason for GERD is a malfunction of the pyloric sphincter leading from the esophagus to the stomach, causing stomach acid to leak back into your esophagus. Eating foods with either a neutral pH (water, etc.) or alkaline foods (nuts, dairy, etc.) will naturally raise the pH of the stomach acid.
If you find that your GERD is worse at night, try sleeping in a chair or reclined position so that gravity helps keep the stomach acid from backtracking into your esophagus.
Omeprazole will calm your stomach acid. You can buy it over the counter at just about any pharmacy.
Also, if you can find aloe vera juice, that is a spectacular way to naturally soothe your GI tract. I have personally used the aloe vera juice for my GERD and it is now completely gone. You can get this at your local health food store.

I was diagnosed with vocal cord dysfunction last month. they told me it was from acid reflux i cant afford ?
The Meds does anyone know a over the counter Medication or home remedy for acid reflux also I have a huge mucus issue and my voice still goes out tea works for an hour nothing gives me a full day relief any suggestions mucinex something I really need help.

Stephen answers:
There are a lot of meds available for acid reflux, both over the counter and as prescription. What exact medication were you prescribed?
Ask your doctor or pharmacist for a recommendation for your other problem. No one on here knows your medical history or medications and allergies so it would be highly irresponsible and even dangerous to recommend something.

Maria asks…
what is the best remedi for acid reflux?
I have acid reflux and I cough a lot after eating . I need a home remedy thanks

Nux vomica my husband used to be on Nexium but it made him irritable. so we decided to find something natural we were told about nux vomica you can get it from your local health store we use hylands homeopathic kind that is all he uses now and he swears by it.

Susan asks…
Acid Reflux? Or something else? Please help.?
I really don’t know what I have. I seem to get a lot of acid in my throat where it feels like I’m suffocating. I don’t get any burning on my throat or stomach or chest.
I was wondering if this is even acid reflux. I get panic attacks easily whenever I feel the acid…sometimes I think I’ll choke to death. My doctor said I have acid relux, but I don’t know if it is…I usually feel very prone to passing out and sometimes my feet get numb when the “acid” is in my throat. This happens when I’m not panicking..
I smoke.
That’s about it…and I hardly eat anything because the acid is so strong it makes it hard to swallow or even want to eat. Sometimes it’s so bad I can’t even swallow my medication.
I tried drinking apple cider vinegar and other home remedies that worked for others with acid reflux, but nothing works.
It’s like a very tight feeling in my chest and throat that never seems to go away.
What could this be?
I take apple cider vinegar because it used to help, and sometimes it will help me get a lot of the acid out…for short term but the reflux never actually goes away. My newest medication is Zantac…for ulcers. Thanks for the answers guys, I will change even though I’ve changed it many times and I will go back to the doctor if the zantac doesn’t kick in soon i guess.

Stephen answers:
This is probably, as your doctor said, acid reflux. Actually, it’s probably GERD.
GERD happens when your lower esophageal sphincter http://www.nbc10.com/2006/0209/6867277.jpg doesn’t close properly and acids back up into your esophagus. You can have damage to your esophagus without burning or pain. Symptoms can include hoarseness, tightness, difficulty swallowing, and chest discomfort. It also causes esophageal spasms, which can make you feel like you’re suffocating.
Apple cider vinegar does not help GERD. Neither do antacids. Medication called PPI’s (proton pump inhibitors) will stop stomach acid production and let your esophagus heal itself, usually after about 8 weeks. If you aren’t taking a PPI, ask your doctor about one. Prescription PPIs are AcipHex, Protonox, and Nexium. An over-the-counter PPI is Prilosec.
You can also help GERD by eating properly http://www.midwestgastro.com/diet_nutrition/GERD.html and, as you probably already know, not smoking.
Read more about GERD at http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/gerd/DS00967
I have GERD. I took PPIs for two years and am now relatively symptom-free.

Helen asks…
baby with acid reflux & constipation?
He is 3 months, on medication.
Prune/ apple juice makes his reflux worse(throws as soon he drinks). What are the other options to cure constipation. Also has lot of gas, hard to feed him & drinks less quantity.
1.How can i improve/ increase his feeding ??
2. what are the ‘home remedies for babies’ for gas, constipation & acid reflux ?

Stephen answers:
Try laying him down (if this doesn’t upset the reflux too much), and move his legs in a cycle motion – this can really help with the gas and constipation. Also have you just tried water instead of juice this might be a it more delicate on his reflux but will help with the constipation.

Your questions about natural resources

William asks…
Are we consuming more natural resources than Earth can reproduce?
I saw in a documentary that the whole population is now using 20% more natural resources than Earth can reproduce. I don’t know where this 20% comes from, but it makes me think more about environment. It is as with money: we can spend more money than we earn, but if you continue doing so, you will go bankrupt? Does it mean one day Earth will go bankrupt?

Stephen answers:
You nailed it on the head and the two biggest consumer are China and the US.
Literally, the only way we are going to find any new sources of metals and other elements is to go into space to find them. Luckily asteroids are chock full of iron and nickel and rare elements like iridium.
The asteroid belt is between the orbits of Jupiter and Mars, but we don’t have to go that far to mine them. The Asteroid Apophis is on its way to the earth to pass so close it will go under our weather satellites in the year 2026. There is a 1 in 35,000 chance it might swing around and hit the earth in the year 2036. However, it is not alone there is a lot of space junk out there that is trying to hit our little planet. We can visit and mine these NEOs without every having to go more than twice the distance between the Earth and the Moon.

Susan asks…
What are the major natural resources of Bolivia?
I am doing a report on Bolivia and I need to know some of Bolivia’s natural resources.

Stephen answers:
tin, natural gas, petroleum, zinc, tungsten, antimony, silver, iron, lead, gold, timber, hydropower
I hope this helps. The site I’ve given you has detailed information on every country in the world – I found it invaluable a few years ago when I was doing a report on Burkina Faso

Sandy asks…
What word related to conserve means to protect natural resources?
This question is on my homework and I have googled it and eveything. The question is:

Your questions about heartburn symptoms

John asks…
Chest pain for a month straight- only in center towards back area-heartburn- no other symptoms?
Obviously seeing a doctor is common thought. Just wanting to get an idea of what type of symptoms this relates to. 28 y/o male. If I take deep breath there is a little discomfort. I am a heavy drinker or had been until I started feeling sick after hangovers. I haven’t been drinking for a month since I first started having the annoying pain. I can’t think of any other symptoms. Never had discomfort in terms of tingling or other heart attack related symptoms. I’m confused what is going on?! AHH this is annoying.

Stephen answers:
It’s either a coronary or an anxiety problem. I also suspect you may have frontal lobe damage, given that you haven’t gone to a doctor.

William asks…
What were your first symptoms of pregnancy?
My hubby and I are actively trying for baby #2. My period is due in about 5 days. I have had severe heartburn for 3 days but that’s it. There are no other symptoms. Is this normal and would heartburn even happen this early? I know I am not imagining the heartburn either, because its killing me! Any advice?? Did anyone show symptoms 9dpo?

Stephen answers:
First symptom was missing my period. However, heartburn doesn’t usually show up until way later. Baby isn’t big enough to be causing problems at this point, and you don’t have the surge of hormones you get until later.

Robert asks…
I been having some symptoms maybe pregnancy?
So my period was due between the first and second month of october but I thought it was late then on the 13th I had unprotected sex, after that I been having some symptoms
1.Headaches
2.Heartburn
3.Back pain
4.Sore throat
5.Cold and hot flashes
6. And just started with some small cramping in my lower stomach
Could this really mean pregnancy?

Stephen answers:
The exact thing happened to me, but its too early to tell. Symptoms start after two weeks or so. I would say to wait about two weeks and then see if these symptoms continue, and if they do you can either wait to see if you miss your next period, or just take a pregnancy test! Hope I helped

Lisa asks…
from when u will see ur symptoms of pregnancy?
after sex,if u r conceived then from when we can c the symptoms of cramping, heartburn, tender breasts etc?
what are the first symptoms before missed period .

Stephen answers:
i think its like 6-8 weeks you will get symptoms but im not positive. i think the first symptoms are being very tired, breast tenderness, and nausea.

Lizzie asks…
How can you distinguish between a heartburn or chest pain from a mild heart attack?
Are there key symptoms that help differentiate them? I’ve heard that heartburns/chest pains have similar symptoms to a mild heart attack, but before going on to assume anything, is there a way to tell the difference between them? In other words, how do you know if you’re having muscular aches or indigestion problems or acid reflux to something more serious like heart problems showing its early stages and coming in the form of a mild heart attack? I know there aren’t any sure ways to pinpoint what exactly it is before seeing the doctor, but until I can do that, is there a way to differentiate them from one another? Are there different key symptoms for each of the diagnosis I’ve mentioned? Please help me. I’m in kind of a crisis, so please be serious in your answers and don’t use this opportunity to make jokes about my situation. Thanks in advance. 10 points for best answer!

Stephen answers:
It’s difficult for doctors, it’s impossible for non-doctors. The problem is that heart attacks can present in many ways.
Anyone who has worked in emergency medicine has probably had the heart attack victim who’s waited too long because “it was just gas.”
As an example of odd symptoms, there was one woman I treated that came to the ED because she couldn’t stop belching. Big acute heart attack.

Either way, ignore Nosey’s advise. Homeopathy is bunk and treats nothing.

Your questions about cure for acid reflux

Richard asks…
is their a cure for acid reflux?

Stephen answers:
It depends on the cause. Stay away from acidic foods like tomatoes, caffeine, juice, and also fatty foods. Some people have acid reflux as a symptom of another illness like a parasite or ulcer, whereas others have it because the top of their stomach doesn’t close properly which allows acid to come back up, other people have it as a result of poor diet or smoking. See your doctor for advice on your acid reflux.

Mark asks…
Is there any perminent cure for Acid Reflux?
I’ve done a lot of reading on it and looked at other questions where people have asked about “cures”. But everything described as a cure is really just a remedy.
When I say “cure” I don’t mean for a day or a week. I mean forever. Something I can do that will make the problem go away forever or at least decrease the likelihood of the problem coming back later.
Does such a thing exist.. or will I be a slave to medication and supplements for the rest of my life? I hate having to plan my day around my stomach and remember to pop a pill before eating something. Its really taking a lot of the fun out of my life. I’m only 27 and its depressing to think I’ll have to deal with this for life.

Stephen answers:
Medications do NOT cure acid reflux and sad to say they will cause health problems. You don’t have a deficiency in prilosec, nexium, tums lol but you almost assuredly have insufficient stomach acid and lack of digestive enzymes. And to add: acid reflux drugs state on the package to only be taken up to 8 weeks and the FDA made a statement to only take PPI’s (eg: prilosec, nexium) for up to 14 days 3 times a year. Good reason…see side effects.

is there a PERMANENT cure for Acid Reflux or Peptic Ulcer Disease?
I took this CVS (Generic)Brand of prilosec otc for 14 days and i was alright until i eat almost anything:coffee, soda, devils food cakes ,cookies, blueberry fig newtons, peanut butter&jelly sandwiches,
I’m like Da m n! EVERYTHING gives me Acid indigestion?????
Now occassionally i take some CVS Brand Acid controller but these seems to only TEMPORARILY solve the problem…..is there a Permanent Solution?

Stephen answers:
As many as 80% of ulcers are associated with Helicobacter pylori, a spiral-shaped bacterium that lives in the acidic environment of the stomach.
Consult a gastroenterologist and Esophagogastroduodenoscopy (EGD) may be done.

Sandy asks…
Hi I was wondering if acid reflux causes nausea for some people?
Hi. I have had a very bad year..to say the least . First, I caught a staph infection. Then, all of sudden again, after a month later, I caught a stomach infection, h.pylori. I was treated for this and the doctor said the h.pylori was gone. But even after the h.pylori was gone I still had symptoms, just not as bad. I still have the gastritis that it caused and now recently the burning pain from the stomach has moved up through my throat and its making me sick. I went back to the doctor and he told me the nausea is from acid reflux. It seems if my stomach is not burning then its in my esphugs burning and making me nauseas. I cant win. I rather have the burning in my stomach then the nausea. All I know after i got out of that hospital my stomach hasnt been right. Can anyone help? I was wondering if anyone knew of a good probiotic i can use. I heard they r good for all different digestive disorders. I also heard aloe cures acid reflux and gastratis. Is this true? Please help. thanks .

Stephen answers:
had similar problems and fixed it with diet. Yes a good pro-biotic will help and also try eating an ALL natural yogurt
and I mean just plain yogurt not added fruit or nothing. That will add a GOOD bacteria for your stomach. Also, I have allergies and many times all that crap will run down my throat and cause a slight nausea. Also, If your taking some vitamins without eating first that will also make you feel a bit sick to your stomach. Sounds like your doc either didn’t answer your questions or you need to ask him MORE questions since your asking them on YA

Lisa asks…
Why can’t I cure my acid reflux, could it be something else?

NOT HAD AN UPPER GI ON JUNE 12 IF I FEEL THE SAME I AM SURE GASTRO EXPERT WILL HAVE ME MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR ONE. i ALSO THINK, IT’S NOT HELPING THAT IF I FEEL SOMETHING DIFFERENT AND I THINK TO MYSELF OH NO I HAVE THIS, OR I HAVE THIS. IT HAS TAKING OVER MY LIFE

Stephen answers:
i use a naturopathic doctor who put me on dgl, a digestive enzyme found in the health food stores or natural markets like whole foods. it is essentially black licorice. chew two to four tablets twenty minutes before meals and it is great! after seven years of suffering with acid reflux, i am FINE.

Susan asks…
emo’s new short hair cut and new fashions??
Bobs and short haircuts for women made their debut in the 1920s and were greeted with raised eyebrows and allegations of scandal. Since then, bobs and short haircuts for women have become permanent fashion fixtures and are here to stay. Bobs and short haircuts can be quite easy to manage and can look appropriate for any occasion, depending on how they are shaped and styled.
The classic bob was a blunt cut that made the hair the same length as the ears all around (except the front, of course) with a hint of curl formed by old-fashioned curlers. Today, there are as many bobs and short haircuts as there are types of women who wear them, and the famous bob has evolved to fit almost every fashion requirement.
Styling bobs and short haircuts can be quite simple, since there is less hair to work with. However, trying an unfamiliar style also has its challenges, and sometimes patience and trial and error are required before creating the perfect look.
? For a classic, blunt bob, make the hair straight all around, and ask the stylist for bangs. Using gel, comb your wet hair straight as you blow dry. Spray it well.
? For a Pageboy bob: Use a wide-barrelled curler and curl the back of your hair and bangs under. Wait for the curls to cool, and brush gently, encouraging the large curls, with a large, round brush. Spray well.
? For a flip bob: If you like the mostly straight bob with a little flip in or out at end, use a flat iron to make most of your hair straight, and make your hair flip in or flip out at the ends by twisting inch wide sections around the flat iron.
? Kinky bob: If you do not have naturally curly hair, create curls using wacky curlers or by using a narrow-barrelled curling iron. Leave the curlers in your hair for at least a half and hour and blow your hair dry, or, using a curler, wind your hair around the iron in one-inch wide sections. Use a pick to arrange your curls and spray well.
? Layered Bob: If your hair is layered, and you would like a soft, natural looking bob, rinse out your conditioner well and work mousse through your wet hair. Dry well, using your fingers to style your hair and twist some strands of hair for extra wave.
? Super glossy bob: This look is great for formal events. Use shampoo and conditioner specially designed to bring out the sheen in your hair. Sculpt wet hair with gel and brush straight. Blow dry on a low setting, and finish with a hair spray that will make your hair very shiny.
? Super short bob: Paris Hilton sported this bob shortly before getting her hair sheared. This bob requires very little maintenance. The hair should be cropped close to the face. Use a little mousse to give the hair a bit of volume. You needn’t worry about making the bob very curly or very straight, since this is a natural looking hairdo. Simply use mousse, coax your hair into the desired style with a brush as you blow it dry.
? Emo bob: Although emo’s claim to ignore fashion, the bob has hit even the emo crowd. Cut your hair into a blunt cut with scissors. Don’t worry if the ends are not exactly even. Dye your hair black and add red or frosted highlights if you wish.
Bobs and short haircuts can create a very “sweet” look. A short haircut that has as much sass and elegance as a bob is the “pixie” look. This hairstyle is great if you have an oval face and want soft bangs that emphasize your eyes. The back is cut in the shape of a wedge, and more hair is left at the top. The bangs can be curled under or combed straight. A little curl is quite feminine and brings out the eyes.

Great info

George asks…
Short bangs? Do they look nice? And about salon cuts…?
Ok. I want to cut my bangs shorter. I have long, natural black hair, and I was planning on cutting my bangs a little above or at my mouth. Will that look ugly or punkish for a 8th grader?! I hate anything with a dab of punk. If anyone can give me pics of a style similar to that, I’d be grateful.
Also, is it possible to ask the stylist NOT to use the barrel brush while drying? It makes my hair SO afro like and CURLY, and I like my hair down, straight with a small wave. It looks so much better!
Please help? 10 points for best answer. Thanks. ![]()
Note: Long hair, extra short bangs (mouth level) with an oval face. I hope that looks… not too punkish. I’m only in 8th grade… If I need a ponytail, I’ll clip ‘em back.
The answers are good so far. Keep ‘em up? Thanks. ![]()
And I just got a new idea. If it looks crap (it usually does. :X) I’ll keep one bang clipped all the time behind my ear or out of my face. That should look fine. I feel better now. Keep ‘em still coming?

Stephen answers:
you can tell the salon exactly what you want them to do and they will do it if not you need to find a different salon as for youre hair i would get layers all the way from the tip of the nose to the bottom to make it look girly

My babies dads brother just had a 10lb 6 oz baby wiht lots of hair and she had wild heartburn too..i wonder if my kid will be that big!!! Thank You for all the answers!

Stephen answers:
I had terrible heartburn for my entire pregnancy also, but I also had Reflux before I got pregnant. As far as at home rememedies, milk worked well for me, lots and lots of milk. On a side note, I gave birth to my daughter 3 weeks early and she was 10lbs. 9oz. with a crazy amount of hair. The people in the room all commented as she was crowning, wow, look at all that hair! To which my response at that moment was lets get her out and talk about how much hair she has after!!! Best of luck to you and congratulations!!

Mary asks…
How do you get rid of heartburns and indigestion from home?
I cannot afford to purchase over the counter drugs right now but am experiencing a lot of heart-burns the past couple of weeks. Is there any suggestions out there for home remedies that would help this problem?

Stephen answers:
Heartburn, also called acid reflux or GERD, is caused when the acids that are always present in your stomach to help break down food slosh upward into your esophagus and throat, causing a burning sensation. The trick is to neutralize the acids in your stomach. One effective natural remedy is aloe juice. You can find it in most health food stores. Drink it in a high concentration or, better yet, squeeze some of the juice from the aloe plant itself. It not only helps to stop heart burn but it also helps to heal stomach ulcers.

Sharon asks…

Your questions about natural remedies

Thomas asks…
what are some natural remedies for acne scars?
i just really need to clear my acne scars what are some natural remedies?

Stephen answers:
Okay, first of even if you do everything I tell you there is no guarantee that your acne scars we completely heal, but for sure it will improve. New scars will be easy, older scars are a lot more difficult. Healing your scars will take money and time. The problem is that people tend to use only 1 ingredient, which is not enough. In order to truly make a difference you have to combine ingredients. I recommend making your own “scar healer”. I will give you a list of essential oils that are effective to heal scars. Vitamin E Oil, Rose Hip Seed Oil, Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Aloe Vera, and Olive Oil (you don’t have to buy them all, but the more the better). I recommend that you buy these ingredients at high quality, natural (good) or organic (best) you don’t have to, but the higher the quality, the better results. You won’t find these ingredients at department stores. Go to a health food store like Henry’s, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s. If you can’t then try to find them online. Mix these oils together and apply it to your scar by massaging it into the scar (for about a minute). Leave the oils on your face (the longer the better), and when you want to wash it of your face get a paper towel soak it in water and wash your face (the oils are really thick). You will start seeing results in about a month. If you don’t want to make your own “scar healer” and just want to buy one, then I recommend buying kuumba made scar repair (it’s kind of expensive) I personally have used it and out of all the scar healing products that I have used this one is the best. Or you could use both which will get you even better results. (kuumba made scar repair one day and your own “scar healer” the next day and switch back and forth) You can find it at a health food store like Henry’s, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe’s. If you can’t here’s the link to buy it online http://www.kuumbamade.com/store/index.ph… I have also heard good things about bio oil, so you could try that. You can’t just heal scars externally, but internally as well (eat healthy drink 8 glasses of water a day, eat vegetables, eat fruit, don’t eat junk food too much, etc.). If you do both it will speed up the healing process. Now if you do everything I said you might have a chance to heal your scars. Hoped I helped.

Nancy asks…
Anybody have any natural remedies for chronic headaches?
I get headaches every single day and migraines about once a fortnight – I read on the net that it’s called chronic headache syndrome and about 3% of people have it – but it also said that using painkillers like ibuprofen can make it worse as the body ends up depending on them.
So can anyone suggest any natural remedies for these neverending headaches? It makes my life a misery!!

Stephen answers:
Firstly try to do without the painkillers for as long as possible. When you have an attack put some cold water into a bath tub and stand in it – you have got to be brave to do this as it is mighty cold – but if you hate your headaches you will give it a go.
Also I know that if you are out and about or at work then running a cold bath may not be very practical so try cold gel headache patches or cold gel roll-on for heads available from your pharmacy. This makes the head feel cold – a lot of headaches are caused by inflamed blood vessels so making your head colder will help to reduce the blood vessel’s swelling and reduce pain at the same time – at home you can use a bag of frozen peas – (keeping the same bag can be a bit risky so you could invest in an old-fashioned ice-pack as seen in numerous Hollywood films)
Drink loads of water as dehydration can worsen headaches and even trigger them.
Lastly reduce salt and sleep with your window open at night!

Robert asks…
Holistic or natural ovarian cyst pain remedies?
I’ve been having ovarian cyst trouble for the last couple of months. I was in the hospital yesterday for extreme pain. They said the cyst is causing my pain (it is 4 cm), and fluid which is realeased from the cyst during ovulation is moving about my abdomen and causing pain.
Are there any holistic or natural remedies to pain/cysts?

Stephen answers:
Iodine is utilized by every hormone receptor in the body. The absence of iodine causes a hormonal dysfunction that can be seen with practically every hormone inside the body. Dr. Flechas has recently been able to show that patients with insulin resistant diabetes have a partial to full remission of their illness in the presence of taking iodine. Iodine deficiency is also felt to be the source of ovarian cysts. With iodine replacement therapy the cysts disappear and women have stopped having ovarian cysts.”
My wife is taking Iodoral. http://www.optimox.com/pics/Iodine/opt_Iodoral.htm She is taking 50mg a day for 90 days and will likely then drop to 12.5mg. In Japan women get more than 13mg a day in their diet. Most doctors think you only need less than 1mg a day.
Read the book Iodine: Why You Need It Why You Can’t Live Without It. http://www.amazon.com/Iodine-Need-Cant-Live-Without/dp/B001EE40K2/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1232333125&sr=1-2 Iodoral [tablets] or Lugol’s Iodine Solution [liquid] are both available at Amazon.com
